Nike:
Brasil Five Star Consumer Piece
Nike was about to roll out one of their largest football initiatives of the
decade. From apparel to footwear, this product line would be supported by
print and broadcast on every spectrum. Nike wanted a take-away piece that
would communicate the rich history and heritage behind the Brazilian National

Brasil—world champions, five times. It’s a story of joy and brilliance;
a story that’s inspired more than a few generations of football players.
It’s inspired a one-of-a-kind product collection that’s just as
beautiful as the game it represents.

This was something entirely new.
After nearly a quarter of a century, they were back. And so was Italy. Both
touting three championships and wanting four, they met in the first world
championship held outside of Europe or South America. This was something entirely
new. America threw a party and Brasil was the guest of honor—winning
the bitter, hard-fought final in a shootout.

They introduced the world to futebol arte.
Clad in bright new yellow jerseys that would come to define beautiful football,
Brasil introduced themselves to the world in 1958. Better yet, they introduced
the world to futebol arte—where dancing steps and instinctive rhythms
not only win titles, but win hearts.
Product
Brasil introduced art and rhythm to football. So we infused the flag and stripes
of Brasil with the vibrant intensity they brought to the field.
A revolution has happened—on the field, in music and ideas. The rhythm
of tropicalia and the intense, independent color of the decade now dominates
Brasilian culture and style.
